Pay Per Click (PPC) Campaigns
At Chicago Style SEO, we always recommend starting any campaign with a fresh round of keyword research and a Google Adwords campaign. Even if you already have Adwords running, it is usually a good idea to look it over to make sure it is running optimally.
Once Adwords is running smoothly and efficiently, we would take the keywords and port them to Yahoo and MSN to maximize your ROI and exposure.
Finally, we can also look into the myriad of other Pay Per Click services that are available to see if they can add value to your business. There are quite often very industry specific niche PPC services that will bring a small but strong customer segment to your website.
Google Adwords
With over 70% of search volume, Google Adwords is by far the biggest player in the paid search game. Not only do they have the highest volume, but they also try to maintain very good quality. Good quality means an excellent, sterile testing environment and high volume, insuring us plenty of data to work with for our tests.
Yahoo Marketing Solutions
Yahoo currently has around 18% of the total search volume. While far behind Google, nearly a fifth of the market should not be ignored. Once a Google Adwords campaign is running smoothly, it is a nearly painless transition to copy the entire working campaign to Yahoo. From experience, the numbers tend to be nearly the same, so there isn’t a huge amount of extra work maintaining both campaigns.
Microsoft AdCenter
Microsoft has around 4% of the search volume and, with a couple exceptions, is the last paid search campaign that is cost effective to run. As with Yahoo, the campaign can be ported directly from a working Google campaign to make running AdCenter very cost effective.
