Link Building: The Currency of the Internet

A common expression among web marketers is, links are the currency of the internet.  This is because Google’s (and other search engines’) ranking algorithm rewards sites with a lot of other sites linking to it. These links from other sites are called backlinks.  It is helpful to think of links back to your site as a vote for your website. Not all backlink votes are equal – some are worth more than others – but, for the most part, they all help your web site become more important and valuable in the search engines’ eyes.
